about

Instrumentalist/DJ/Producer, Mutaal’s second project— and first since his 2019 debut EP, Supreme Creations—Indigenous Vibrations Vol. 1 is a warm yet ethereal look at his musical evolution. “Shifts” pictures Faddah Shabazz sliding effortless in a prophetic style linking the melodic use of sacred flutes nestled between the classic grit of hip-hop sparking this musical journey. Mutaal can body any track (“Ray Ray”) and move listeners with his consistent catharsis of soul & hip-hop over live-drum grooves and powerful studio production. “Be” is the realest song about unplugging from technology since Gil Scott Heron’s, “The Revolution Will Not Be Televised” —closes the project with Mutaal’s first vocal appearance through his use of spoken word over a complex world of sounds connecting the listener to the roots of music.
